Trusera - a Social Network for Medical

Having to live with a health condition can be very frightening and frustrating for many people. A patient or caregiver may feel very helpless and dejected when there is no one to talk to for advice or comfort. Trusera is a social network which provides users with answers to questions on health. It also provides a platform for users to share their knowledge and experience on health with others.

Users can sign up to be a member of Trusera for free. Members can pose questions to the community and answers will be provided from individuals and medical professionals. This service, however, is limited to the sharing and accessibility to information or experience rather than the diagnosis or treatment of diseases.

Trusera resembles a social network with a purpose. The site’s interactive features allow users to invite friends, post stories for others to read, keep an online journal of their health-related experience, or comment on others’ postings. While the social and interactive nature of the site may rule out its role as an authoritative platform for medical consultation, the opportunity for users to commiserate and network with others to relieve their suffering is immense. The site has well-established communities on autism, cancer, and dying, amongst others.

Intel Officially Launched Xeon 5500 Series

After the previous release of Nehalem processors for desktop version back to November last year, Intel Inc has just officially launched the new Xeon processors targeted for enterprise server market. The new 5500 series or previously named as Nehalem EP are claimed to be the world’s most powerful processors that has been enhanced with various cutting edge technologies.

Similar to other Nehalem series that is based on 45-nm High-K process technology, the Xeon 5500 series has been further enhanced with various Intel technologies targeted for performance boost while able to conserve energy while in idle mode. Thanks to its advanced Intel Turbo Boost Technology that is able to adjust its core frequency dynamically depending on the CPU workload. Besides, its hyper-Threading Technology will able to handle multiple applications by virtually observed as eight-cores while powered by a quad cores Nehalem processor. That is not all, it has been equipped with Virtualization Technology that enables multiple OS (Operating system) running simultaneously on the same system. To reduce memory bottleneck, Nehalem features an Intel QuickPath Technology (with integrated memory controller) that is able to deliver much higher performance as compared to competitor’s solutions.

This has definitely marked another great milestone with the most significant launch after the previous Pentium Pro series back to 1995 and the giant chipmaker does promise to come out with a 32-nm “Westmere” version as a its successor with six cores in single die targeted for much demanding applications in short future.

Speed Up Files Copying

Many users might have encountered frustration in waiting for the computer system to copy or move files. Copying or moving files is a relatively simple action. However, sometimes this simple action can make you mad especially when the process is extremely slow or the system grinds to a halt. This problem is also common in Windows Vista. If this annoying problem happens to you frequently, perhaps you need help with some simple software such as TeraCopy.

TeraCopy is a free compact program developed to make copying and moving files occur at the maximum speed possible. This free utility comes with some useful features which make files copying and moving faster and efficient. For instance, TeraCopy will skip bad files during the copying or moving process. This will prevent unnecessary wasting of time. Besides, users can resume the files transferring process if it is interrupted halfway. The features summary of the free TeraCopy software is as follows: -

• Copy files faster. TeraCopy uses dynamically adjusted buffers to reduce seek times. Asynchronous copy speeds up file transfer between two physical hard drives.
• Pause and resume file transfers. Pause copy process at any time to free up system resources and continue with a single click.
• Error recovery. In case of copy error, TeraCopy will try several times and in the worse case just skips the file, not terminating the entire transfer.
• Interactive file list. TeraCopy shows failed file transfers and lets you fix the problem and recopy only problem files.
• Shell integration. TeraCopy can completely replace Explorer copy and move functions, allowing you work with files as usual.
• Full Unicode support.

Users can download TeraCopy via the link here. Once you have downloaded and installed the software, the TeraCopy command will be added to your shortcut menu. Then you just need to right click on the file that you want to copy and choose TeraCopy. In the prompted box, select you next command either “Add”, “Test”, “Copy To”, “Move To” or “Delete”.

RichCopy Enhances File Copying Process

To copy and paste a file or folder from one place to another wouldn’t bother you much. A simple drag and drop via mouse or the simple Ctrl+C and Ctrl + V keys will get the job done easily. Having said that, this might not be always true if the number of files to be copied and pasted are not limited to one or two but a huge amount. Some users have probably experienced the frustration of copying and pasting files/folders across a slow network connection and suddenly the process is halted or terminated automatically. Users would then need to spend some valuable time to retrace the files/folders that have been copied/pasted, redo the process, etc. If users need to copy or move files quite frequently for either work or personal reasons, the visual file copy utility, RichCopy, probably is ideal and useful.

RichCopy is not something new or novel from Owen. This application has been developed in 2001 since the days of Windows 95. This application was not that popularly known since it is an internal tool not meant for public use. However, Microsoft has lately removed the restrictions and released RichCopy as a public download. Users who want to enhance the files/folders copying process can download this free utility via the link here.

So what can RichCopy do for you or assist you to do in file copying? The great thing about this utility is its ability to support multithreaded copying. Instead of copying one file at a time, RichCopy allows multiples files to be copied in parallel and reduce the total time required to complete the operation several times over. This can reduce the time of copying substantially. Besides, users can monitor the copy process and control the process via pause/resume feature available. Users can chose to pause the copying process when the network connectivity is slow and vice versa. RichCopy will also preserve the particular file attributes when copying files. Technically RichCopy is useful for copying a huge number of files, e.g. copying files from one hard drive to the other.
